Description
In 1912, Gisburne House Industrial School for Girls opened to accommodate up to 57 girls, who were aged under 14 years old at the time of their admission.

Between 1930 and 1965 the home was run by the London County Council (L.C.C.). In 1933, it became an approved school for girls. Then in 1956, it became Gisburne House Special Home for Girls, accommodating up to 27 children, aged 14 to 18 years old. In 1965, Islington Council took over the running of the home and it became a Reception and Remand Centre for up to 40 children, aged 3 to 17 years old.

The home has since closed and been demolished. Beechfield School is now on the site.
