Description
"Cruelty in perfection"; shows Tom Nero being apprehended in a country churchyard, where he has just murdered Ann Gill, whose body lies on the ground. Around her are watches and other objects, which Tom had persuaded her to steal and a figure to the left of the murderer holds the knife used in the deed. Above the scene an owl and a bat fly across the night sky.
