Description
Archery Fields House villa in the shape of the Parthenon at a corner of Wharton Street and Prideaux Place (formerly Upper Vernon Street), Clerkenwell. Built in 1938-40 by architect Bernard Ashwell, this neo-Georgian house is a block of flats and maisonettes. The name Archery Fields House refers to the 'archery target ground' which occupied the site of Wharton Street, Clerkenwell, in the early nineteenth century.
