Description
View of the rear elevations of houses at 134-148 Tulse Hill, Norwood. Numbers 144–154 are two-storey houses with semi-basements and attics, built in 1843 and originally known as Prince of Wales Crescent. In the foreground is an open area with benches. The whole area now forms part of the St Martin's Estate of tenement blocks. Tulse Hill was originally known as Lower Tulse Hill Road, and was named after Sir Henry Tulse who was Lord Mayor of London in 1683-84.
