Description
View of St Martin's Estate, Tulse Hill, Norwood, looking north to the junction with Trinity Rise and Upper Tulse Hill. The road was named after Sir Henry Tulse who was Lord Mayor of London in 1683-64. Harbin House the five-storey block of flats on the left, and under construction on Upper Tulse Hill Road is Barry House. St Martin Estate was built by Lambeth Council from the 1950s onwards on the site of large nineteenth-century detached houses, with Fairfield Court and Hillcrest Court formerly on this site. A cyclist is riding up the hill and opposite a VW van is parked.
