Description
Ground-floor rear room chimneypiece at 20 Queen Anne's Gate, Westminster, featuring marble inlays, and two head depicting the god Pan. On the mantelpiece there are vessels and statues. The lower part of a frame can be seen. The whole terrace, which comprises even numbers 14-24, dates from 1775-78 and is Grade I listed, listing number 1227298. This part of the street was originally a close called Park Street, separated by a wall from the western part called Queen Square. Number 20 now carries a blue plaque commemorating Lord Palmerston, the Prime Minister, who was born there in 1784.
