Title
Houses in Thornlaw Road
Description
View of an attached pair of houses at 4-6 Thornlaw Road, West Norwood. Designed by Ernest George and Harold Peto in 1883, they have red brick dressing, a tile-hung upper-storey, prominent chimneys and white-painted sash windows in Arts and Crafts style. Number 4 has tiled covered way, on wood supports, leading from the street to the front door. Number 6 has a porch with an elliptical gauged brick entrance arch. To the right is an original single-storey coach house. George lived in Streatham for some years and designed several buildings in the area. Harold Peto also designed Southwark Bridge. The buildings are Grade II listed, listing number 1357958.
