Description
Sloane Square, Chelsea, looking south from Sloane Street. The Venus Fountain can be seen in the centre of Sloane Square. The fountain is Grade II listed, and was created by the sculptor Gilbert Ledward. The fountain is ‘a fountain to lovers’ and consists of a figure of Venus, whilst the basin is decorated with a relief depicting Charles II with his mistress Nell Gwynn seated by the Thames. Westminster Bank Limited can be seen on the corner of Sloane Street in Wyndham House, which is a Grade II listed building.
