Description
The plan proposed the removal of Bedlam Hospital and the development on the site of houses for 'opulent Citizens' with a new street built from the centre of the development to the Royal Exchange. The development was partially completed, Bedlam (Bethlem) Hospital was rebuilt on a site at St. George's Fields, Southwark and opened in 1815 (the site of the present day Imperial War Museum) and Finsbury Circus was laid out on the site and the surrounding area was developed; the proposed street was not laid out.
