Building in Cato Street

Front elevation of 1a Cato Street, Westminster, built in 1803 as a stable. This building was the site of the Cato Street Conspiracy, an attempt to murder all the British cabinet ministers and the Prime Minister in 1820. Grade II listed in 1974, listing number 1066330. Cato Street was briefly renamed Horace Street to avoid the conspiracy notoriety, but its original name was eventually restored.
