Title
Bear Gardens entrance on Bankside
Description
View of the northern entrance to Bear Gardens from Bankside. The building on the right, with a street lamp fixed to the wall, is the Belfast and London Aerated Water Co. There is a sign advertising Perrier high up on the wall. The buildings on either side of the alley are shored up and supporting each other with wooden beams between them (and had been like this since the 1880s). Both buildings have been demolished and redeveloped. The bollard was Grade II listed in 1972, listing number 1376550 (but no longer seems to be in position).
