Title
Terraced houses on Aegis Grove
Description
Terraced houses built in the 1850s at 5-8 Aegis Grove, Nine Elms. The properties are semi-derelict, some with doors and windows boarded and bricked up. It is possible to see the empty plot at 9-11 Aegis Grove which was as a result of war damage. The high wall to the left of the photograph is of the grounds of Sleaford Street School (John Milton Primary School from 1951). It is possible to see the terraced houses of Ascalon Street at the bottom of the road. The houses in this photograph were demolished for the creation of the Savona Estate by the London County Council in the early 1960s.
