View of White Hart Alley
Description
View down White Hart Alley, Bermondsey, from Sweeps Alley. The inhabitants of the alley pose for the photographer. The wall to the right may have been an iron foundry. The alley and buildings were demolished during slum clearance and the area is now part of the public gardens of the Tabard Gardens Estate. The estate was completed in January 1925 and provided housing for over 2,500 people.
