A detail view of the ornate door frame surrounding the entrance to the Grade II listed, listing number 1066310, National Westminster Bank at 61 Carey Street, Holborn (also addressed as 95 Chancery Lane, Holborn) on the corner of Star Yard, Holborn the sign of which can be seen on the side of the building by the entrance. The ornate arch includes the date 1865 when the building was built and the original name of the bank and the building, 'Union Bank Chambers'. The building was designed by F.W. Porter in 1865 for the Union Bank of London in a High Renaissance design. The building survived. The bank eventually closed and in 1999 the building became a J. D. Wetherspoon pub known as The Knights Templar.
