Description
Front elevation of a northeast-facing terrace of shops at 9-18 Spring Street, Paddington, with number 17-18 in the foreground near the junction with Craven Road. The terrace was built in the mid-nineteenth century and possibly designed by Roumieu. It has three storeys and attics and a continuous first-floor balcony up to number 16. Numbers 17-18 are the premises of D Wheatley and Sons, wine and spirit merchant and grocer; number 16 is a hair stylist; number 15 is E Maycock Antiques; number 14 is United Dairies; number 13 is Eva Grant Photography, and number 12 is Rickards Travel. The buildings were Grade II listed in 1974, listing number 1236544. Several motor cars are parked in the street: from right to left, a Wolseley 4/50, Goliath Express, Alvis TA 14, Riley Pathfinder, Vauxhall Velox and an Austin A40 motor van. Several pedestrians walk alongside the cars.
