Description
Front elevations of 178-192 Sussex Gardens, Paddington, from Spring Street to Talbot Square. Number 190-192, Arama and Miramar hotel (now Mara Hotel), is in the foreground with an entrance in Spring Street. The Post Office in Spring Street has two telephone boxes outside. Number 188 is a private residence and numbers 178-186 were hotels and now form Mitre House Hotel. Built in the mid-nineteenth century with brick frontage, four-storeys and basement, projecting Tuscan porches, first-floor iron balconies and iron basement railings, the buildings were Grade II listed in 1974 and 1975, listing numbers 1237429 and 1264108.
