View of Edgware Road
Description
View of Edgware Road, Paddington, by Connaught Place. Several people can be seen waiting at a bus stop which has since been moved further up Edgware Road. There are corrugated sheets blocking off the entrance to Connaught Place (these have long been removed). The low wall with the brick structure with a circular window have also been removed and 2 Connaught Place has been modified on the outside. In 1962 an English Heritage blue plaque for ‘Lord Randolph Churchill’ (1849-1895) the father of ‘Sir Winston Churchill’ (1874-1965) was erected on the wall of 2 Connaught Place. The trees visible on the left of the photograph are in Hyde Park.
