Description
Rear view 36-42 Lorn Road, Stockwell. Built on the estate of Fir House on Brixton Road, owned by Randall Jackson, a barrister. On his death, James MacDougall was made trustee of the estate, and he laid out the road in 1840. In the foreground, an allotment is enclosed by a wall. In view is the rear of three-storey terraced houses with basements. There is washing on lines in the back gardens. The buildings and Lorn Road Allotments remain.
