Houses in Loughborough Road
Description
View of 97-113 Loughborough Road, Brixton (formerly Greenman Lane). Loughborough Road is named after Henry Hastings, first Baron Loughborough, who leased the Manor of Lambeth Wick in the seventeenth century when it was mainly pasture and market gardening. Number 97 is a mid nineteenth-century two-storey detached house with a basement and steps leading up to a central porch. This house was demolished and the site is now an entrance to Loughborough Primary School. Numbers 99-113 form an early nineteenth-century three-storey terrace with basements and steps leading up to an arched porch. Front gardens are enclosed by low walls and hedges. This terrace is Grade II listed, number 1065007.
