Cast iron railings enclose the basement area of number 177.

Number 179 is a café 'Williams' and has in the windows adverts for Dinner 6d, Steak Puddings, Tea, Coffee, Cocoa, Bacon, Eggs, Ginger Beer and Soda & Milk. The buildings remain but are solely residential.

The photograph is signed '177-179 Hamilton Road, Photographed by S.B. Bolas May 25th 1898'. He is listed in the 1901 census as Samuel Britton Bocus, a Letterpress Printer and Architectural Photographer, living in Wimbledon; he was born in London in 1865.
