View of 381-387 Coldharbour Lane, Brixton. Numbers 381-385 are part of a three-storey terrace with basements. Number 381 has a bricked-up bay window and appears derelict. Number 387 is a four-storey mansion block designed by G. Warren Cooper and opened in 1891. There is a sign for Shaws on the gatepost, with a woman standing nearby. The ground floor was occupied by a Gentlemen's Hairdressers. The block extends alongside the railway viaduct leading north to Brixton Station. From the late 1970s until 2014 this block was run by the Carlton Mansions Housing Co-operative, a “Short Life” Housing co-op. These buildings have since been demolished and the site is now Brixton House, which includes a theatre space.
