View of 56-64 Upper Street, Islington. Terraced residential housing with local businesses on the ground floor. The furthest, largest building, now demolished, is part of the Royal Agricultural Hall. Next to it, at number 56, is the Three Wheatsheaves public house, which has now closed down, although the building remains, with the name of the pub still engraved on its ornamental arched parapet. It has since housed a number of bars and restaurants, which have included Walkabout, Rattlesnake of Angel, Alphabet, and most recently as of 2020, Flight Club. Other shops visible in the image include Circle furnishers, a closed-down antiques shop with an advertisement on the building for 'Guinness - I've never tried it because I don't like it', Bruce Watson ophthalmic optician, Seaton watchmakers and jewellers, Sandra Scott 'French styles' fashion shop at number 62-63, and European Wine Warehouse.
