Description
The Angel Clock, also known as The Islington Clock, at the junction of Goswell Road with City Road, Angel, Islington, looking south-east. Entrance to underground public toilets visible behind it. The J. Smith & Sons clock was presented and gifted in 1906 by its makers to the Borough of Finsbury, area later incorporated into Islington Borough. J. Smith & Sons ceased making clocks in the late 1930s to concentrate on supplying specialist metals.
