Description
Front elevations of 25 and 27 Norland Road, Notting Hill, Kensington looking west towards Boxmoor Street. On the left, No. 25 is a four-storey building with Blanshard pawnbrokers on the ground floor and the upper windows boarded up. On the right, No. 27 is a four-storey building owned by James Winkler clothing store which is also boarded up and has a large, damaged sign advertising "The Overall King". At the end of Boxmoor Road is a workman's hut and a scaffolding platform. The wall of the raised carriageway of the A3220 West Cross Route is visible and behind that the white building is part of the half mile covered walkway from Uxbridge Road to the White City. Parked in the street are a small van advertising "Steam Carpet Cleaning", a Hillman Minx saloon and a Citroen DS 19 saloon. Norland road has been renumbered and partly demolished when the area was redeveloped for the creation of the A3220 West Cross Route and a new residential terrace on Kingsdale Gardens.
