View of 91-92 Cheyne Walk, Chelsea, both Grade II listed. Number 91, built c1770, is known as Belle Vue Lodge or Belle Vue Cottage. The principal front faces east, upon Beaufort Street, and is remarkable for the central windows on each of the three storeys. The south front is pierced by three plain sash windows on each floor, but those on the first floor are now concealed behind a large hooded and glazed balcony in the manner sometimes called Chippendale Gothic. Number 92, known as Belle Vue House, was built in 1771, reputedly from the design of Robert Adam. Constructed of painted brown brick under a clay-tiled mansard roof, and is arranged over three storeys plus a basement. It features five windows, including a three-window splay bay to the centre and Palladian windows to the side. Various people can be seen walking about, and a young street seller can be seen with a small barrow.
