Title
Houses in Cheyne Walk
Description
Front elevations of 62 and 63 Cheyne Walk, Chelsea. These Grade II listed houses are the only ones remaining of a terrace of five dating from 1686, which was at first called Church Row and afterwards Prospect Place. Number 62 has the distinctive wooden doorcase with architrave, pilasters, festooned frieze and pediment. They immediately adjoin the churchyard of Chelsea Old Church, which is partly visible, and figure in many old views of the church and of Cheyne Walk. Number 63 was the home of Francis Atterbury, Bishop of Rochester.
