View of Alberto Hair Stylist shop at 14-15 Camberwell Green, Southwark. Alberto Petrozzi was from an Italian family and born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. In 1936 the family returned to Italy but came back to London in 1948 where Alberto started working as a barber in Gerrard Street, Soho. He opened his own salon in Camberwell in 1960 and worked there until his death in 2019. The business is still family owned. The salon now occupies only the right hand side of the premises which are part of a late eighteenth-century house which is Grade II listed (1972 with amendments in 1998), listing number 1378399.
