Title
Lyncombe in Crescent Wood Road
Description
View of Lyncombe at 1 Crescent Wood Road, Sydenham. The house was built around 1868 and designed by Charles Barry junior, architect and surveyor to Dulwich College, and fellow architect Robert Banks. The house was converted into four self-contained apartments, one to each floor, by the Estates Governors’ contractors Messrs Falkus Bros Ltd in 1953. The house used to have a large porch with rounded arches and ascending steps fronted by two stone lions, but this has been removed and the lions repositioned. A Volkswagen Beetle is barked in the driveway.
