Title
Houses in Beckett Street
Description
View looking east at slum terraced houses in Beckett Street (previously Thomas Street), Camberwell. On the south side of the narrow, cobbled street on the right of the picture, the houses have chalk numbers 61 (or 67) and 65 on the doors. A group of poorly dressed adults and children cluster outside two of the houses and an empty pram is visible. Further down the street there is a horse drawn cart. This end of Beckett Street no longer exists and is now the location of the Wyndham Estate social housing. The far end of the street is now called Bowyer Street.
