Description
Second-floor main rear room of the house at 1 Laurence Pountney Hill, City of London. This workspace has low shelves with box files and papers stacked, cupboards and filing cabinets with various items on top, including a clock and a dirty plate with Tate and Lyle sugar, and PG Tips boxes with teapot. Coats hang on a rail by the door, which has occupants etched on. The house was originally built by the carpenter and master builder Thomas Denning for merchants in 1703, in the Queen Anne style. The pair of houses at 1-2 Laurence Pountney Hill still survives. They were Grade II* listed in 1950; List Entry Number: 1359204.
