Title
Buildings in Leadenhall Street
Description
Front elevations of 149-159 Leadenhall Street, City of London, on the corner of Bishopsgate. The building stands on the site of the remains of a crypt which was discovered after the Leadenhall Street fire of 1766, possibly from an old Gothic church of which no records survive. Various rubber companies and insurance companies occupied the site in the 1940s. The building has a neo-classical facade with columns in the centre and pediments above the doors and windows. Pedestrians wander about on the street outside.
