Title
Building in Albion Street
Description
View of the rear elevation of building at 93 Albion Street, Rotherhithe (number 46 prior to renumbering in 1873; number 85 after renumbering in 1927). A workman with waistcoat, neckerchief and flat cap waits in front of jackets hung on fence and wall. A cat snoozes on the roof of the outbuilding. This and neighbouring sites were later redeveloped as an office building. One of a series of photos taken in the vicinity recording the structural condition of buildings prior to construction of the Rotherhithe Tunnel and its approaches, to forestall speculative and fraudulent claims of consequential damage.
