Title
View of Westbridge Road
Description
View of the north side of Westbridge Road, looking east and showing the turning into Althorpe Grove. The three seventeenth-century cottages in the foreground were demolished in 1937. The buildings beyond have shops at ground-floor level, and a public house in the far distance could be The Stag at 96 Westbridge Road. There are people on the pavement and in the street, one with a dog, and a man drives a covered waggon. The north side of Westbridge Road was redeveloped from the 1960s onwards as the Althorpe Grove estate (western end) and the Somerset estate.
