Title
Interior of a derelict house in Westbridge Road
Description
Second-floor room at 129 Westbridge Road, Battersea, empty but for a blocked-up fireplace with plain surround and two flowerpots on the mantlepiece, and what appears to be a built-in cupboard to the side. One of a pair of eighteenth-century cottages flanking the much grander 131 Westbridge Road, this building formed part of the Royal Laundry premises from c1938 until c1971. Disused at the time of this photograph, the building survived demolition and was listed in 1981.
