Houses in St Philip Street
Description
General view of 61-137 St Philip Street, Battersea. Part of the Park Town Estate, a development laid out from 1865 onwards, either side of Queenstown Road. Much of the street was built by the partners Robert Lacy and James Flexman in 1867 although these houses are shorter and separate from others in the road. The buildings in the foreground have ground-floor shopfronts, occupied by a grocery, 'Southwest Catering Company' and ‘Pret-A-Manger’ catering company, whose van is visible in image 96171. These buildings remain although the shops have now been repurposed as residential property.
