Title
Houses in Robertson Street
Description
View of terraced houses at 64-84 Robertson Street, Clapham. Part of The Park Town Estate, the 29 houses at the west end of the street were built by Robert Lacy and James Flexman in 1867. Another local builder, G. N. Street, built or completed 38 houses on the south side. The south side of Robertson Street was transferred from Battersea to Clapham in 1900 and, after 1965, to Lambeth. These houses were demolished in the 1970s to make way for the Heath Road Estate. Cars are parked on the road, including a Ford Escort. A man is walking away from the camera where two boys lean out of a window looking at the photographer.
