Description
View of Queen's Circus reconstruction, Battersea. Workers of John Mowlem & Company are seen working on the early construction stages of Queen’s Circus roundabout. The company was appointed by the London County Council to undertake the first major works for constructing the roundabout, in preparation for The Festival of Britain in 1951. All Saints Church is also visible in the background. Built in 1883 and destroyed by fire in 1969, a new church was built on site of the old church hall nearby between 1976 and 1978.
