Description
View of 2-14 Crucifix Lane, Bermondsey, named after Bermondsey Cross that was located here until its destruction in 1559. John Egan and Son London Ltd. was a wine and spirit importing and distributing company; the wines were stored in the arches underneath the railway. The Horns public house has existed since 1791 at 1 Crucifix Lane, the address renumbered as 12 Crucifix Lane and, since 1938, as 2 Crucifix Lane.
