Description
Front elevations of a parade of possibly derelict two-storey terraced houses with shops below at 150-156 Northcote Road, Wandsworth, looking south. These four buildings, set forward on the pavement show signs of having been used for trade supplies. Partial view on the right of a cafe (United?) at No. 148, open from 8:30am to 8pm and advertising Coca Cola and snacks in the window. Next at No. 150 is Exhibition Appliances with a billboard attached to the side wall advertising Go Gas with Seagas and Players No.6 cigarettes. At No. 152 is Trades Contractors (Electrical) Ltd. advertising the sale, repair and maintenance of scales, bacon slicers and cash registers and at No. 154 is a boarded up building with a missing upper window. Furthest from the camera, at No. 156 is Simon gents hairdresser advertising Vaseline hair tonic. Further down the street is R.Holmes shou repairs shop with a hanging sign. A Rover P6 (registration PPC 633E) is parked on the road. These buildings, and the taller building behind on the left, no longer exist and the location is now an access road to garages behind the taller building on the right which still exists.
