Description
General view of Prince of Wales Drive, Nine Elms, looking west from Queen's Circus roundabout. On the left is a belisha beacon on the corner of the street. There are temporary barriers in the street and a workman is pushing painted pyramid warning beacons on a trolley. Vehicles driving past include a flatbed truck, a Fordson Thames ET6 lorry owned by N.Francis & Co. Ltd, an Austin Devon saloon, a Daimler CWA6 bus (registration HGC 299) in greenline livery on route 49 to Shepherds Bush, an Austin K8 3-way delivery van for Meredith & Drew biscuits, a Leyland Titan RTW bus (registration KGU 244) on route 19 to Highbury Barn, an MG T-type roadster and an Humber Hawk Mk1. There are advertisements on the buses for "Mills Circus" and film "All About Eve". In the background is Battersea Park where swings are visible and the building in the park is possibly the gymnasium changing rooms. Written on the lower right corner of the photograph is "C467 12/12/50".
