Latchmere Road Relief Station and Dispensary
Description
A view of the then derelict 'Relief Station and Dispensary' workhouse on Latchmere Road in Battersea. This building was bombed one night between 7 October 1940 and 6 June 1941, resulting in being classed as 'Seriously Damaged'. Bomb damage is evident in the building - major parts of the roof are missing and the windows are boarded up. It was built in 1886 to the design of T. W. Aldwinckle. The central wing has since been renovated.
