Title
Terraced houses in Aegis Grove
Description
Taken from a vacant plot at 154-166 Thessaly Road, Nine Elms, this view shows the rear of properties at 6-22 Aegis Grove. Sheds and fences are visible, and although the houses appear to be occupied, they appear to be in a state of semi-dereliction. The Sleaford Street School (John Milton Primary School from 1951) can be seen to the left of the photograph. In the foreground, the vacant plot on Thessaly Road contains two benches and is surrounded by a wire fence. These properties, which date from the 1850s, were demolished for the creation of the Savona Street Estate by the London County Council in the early 1960s.
