Title
Cottages on Battersea Church Road
Description
Thomas and Robert Jones, builders of Pimlico, were responsible for the building of nos.11-29 circa 1844, and this photograph shows 21-25 Battersea Church Road. Described by the Survey of London as "miserly two-storey elevations" these properties were typical of the housing being built in Battersea in the 1840s. However, they have one unusual feature, the raised rear halves. The lower front halves of the properties have been infilled with dormer extensions. Nos.31-35 at the end of the terrace were built around the same time, though they are only two-storeys. A Mini is parked in the driveway of no.29.
