Description
A view of the north-east corner of the Royal Exchange, City of London. Viewed from the south end of Old Broad Street across the junction with Threadneedle Street. This is the third incarnation of the Royal Exchange (the previous two having been destroyed by fire) and was built in Neo-Classical style to the designs of William Tite in the 1840s. It was Grade I listed in 1950; listing number 1064713. Shops visible at street level include Western Union, Bendicks and Hamblins. Traffic includes two Routemaster buses (number 22 to Homerton and number 6 to Kensal Rise); a van branded Turners and a black cab. Two people are chatting as they pause before crossing the road.
