Title
Moorfields House in Tenter Street
Description
Rear elevation of Moorfields House, Tenter Street, City of London. The building was constructed in the 1920s. This area, north of Moorgate Station, was subject to heavy bombing in World War II and cleared bomb-damaged areas are visible to the side and rear. The area was redeveloped in the 1960s and 1970s and Moorfields House and Tenter Street are no longer extant. The photograph shows that part of the wasteland was being used as a car park with three vehicles visible. At this time the building was the head office of The Mercantile and General Reinsurance Company Limited.
