Description
View of Trinity Square Gardens, Tower Hamlets. The Merchant Navy Memorial, First World War section is on the left, designed by Lutyens (1926-28) commemorating Merchant Navy and fishing fleets who lost their lives during the First and Second World Wars. The memorial is Grade I Listed, listing number 1260087. The Merchant Navy Memorial, Second World War section is visible on the right and is Grade II* Listed, listing number 1031597. The sunken garden memorial (1939-45) was designed by Maufe and includes sculptures by Sir William Reid Dick. All Hallows by the Tower can be seen in the background.
