Description
A view of the exterior of 187 Fleet Street and Saint Dunstan in the West Church, City of London. Saint Dunstan in the West was built between 1830-33 to the designs of John Shaw Senior. 187 Fleet Street was built in 1834 to the designs of John Shaw Junior as the offices of the Law Life Assurance Society. This society was acquired by Phoenix Assurance Company Limited in 1909/10. 187 Fleet Street continued to serve as the Law Courts branch of the Phoenix group until 1968. Just visible on the right hand side are the offices of the Dundee Evening Telegraph, Dundee Courier, People's Friend, Sunday Post and People's Journal at 185 Fleet Street.
