Title
Bomb sites in Queen Victoria Street and Old Change Hill
Description
A view of WWII bomb sites and post-war rebuilding on sites of buildings destroyed during WWII (the large building being built in the distance is possibly in Cannon Street) as seen from Queen Victoria Street, City of London near Old Change Hill, City of London (on the other side of the wall) with the ruined church and tower of St Nicholas Cole Abbey, Queen Victoria Street on the right of the photograph. Behind the building being built can be seen the tower and spire of St Mary le Bow in Cheapside with scaffolding visible around it. On the far left of the picture can be seen part of the side wall of the Grade I listed College of Arms at 130 Queen Victoria Street. The image contains pedestrians, four door saloon cars, a builders lorry with 'Willment' written on the side and back of the vehicle and a bus stop sign by the wall. Old Change Hill no longer exists and a late twenty first-century office block now sits on the site. St Nicholas Cole Abbey now Grade I listed was rebuilt and restored as was the Grade I listed St Mary le Bow in Cheapside.
