Description
A view looking towards Station's Buildings in New Bridge Street, City of London, across the site of the demolished former Bridewell Place police station and neighbouring post office (which were destroyed during WWII). Either side of Station's Buildings (built c1920s) can be see railway bridges which were once linked to the former Ludgate Hill Station. On the left of the site of the demolished buildings is the turning into Bride Lane and on the right of the site is Bridewell Place. St Bride's Tavern public house and the neighbouring office building, Bridewell House were later built on the site. Station's Buildings have been replaced by a late twentieth-century office block.
