Description
A view of New Bridge Street, City of London looking towards Blackfriars Bridge and the River Thames. The view contains mid to late twentieth-century office blocks on the left of the photograph such as the Royal Bank of Scotland and on the right can be seen the classical Regency front of James Lewis' Grade II* listed former offices of the former Bridewell Royal Hospital at 14 New Bridge Street of c1805. Next door can be seen the front of the Grade II listed 15 New Bridge Street which was rebuilt in c1900. At 13 New Bridge Street can be seen a shop called Golf City. A new building is being built on the far left of the photograph. Various cars, traffic lights and road signs can be seen in the street. Many of the buildings in the picture still survive.
